What a ride!

Writer's picture: Robert LopezRobert Lopez

What a ride these last 2 months have been. After opening in our permanent location life has happened and lots has sold. In fact, we are far ahead of where we thought we would be at this point and are scrambling to catch up to you. The amount of support you have shown this little business that could has truly humbled.

Lets talk about where we plan to be by years end and what we plan to accomplish. Also, let's get some suggestions on "Social" our monthly get togethers.

From the start Vintage Deluxe has been a collection of things I would personally have in my home. Furniture, general decor, and those must have unique pieces. When we began shopping for our store in December we had almost 7 months to prepare and collect things we planned to sell. Within a month you bought out nearly all of it. You really seemed to have connected to our vision.

Obviously we are grateful. But this poses issues that we are thrilled to have. First, we need to go and pick much much more often. And secondly this means our little shop has completely changed over each and every week since opening. We thought we would be doing this monthly. Nope.

If you follow us online you'll have noticed I married Jason August 4th. This was a complete surprise to nearly EVERYONE. I never shared we were even dating. Not to friends, not colleagues, and not family. Kind of landed like a bomb but we have no "regerts." You'll be seeing him around the shop much more often as I leave and pick more.. Please say hello. I promise you he's literally the most interesting man in the world.

We have some significant holiday plans including doing another pop up Christmas shop. Last year our pop up shop killed it and you really connected to it. We are hoping to take it to the next level this year. Stay tuned for a special announcement on this later in September. I promise you'll not be disappointed.

Now on to Social. Social is our monthly in-store get together where we do fun and interesting things like make terrariums, learn to appraise our valuables, and more. The general idea is we get together and experience something new together. The cost is generally low and just covers the cost of materials. But the fun is endless. Our sold out Terrarium class was a riot and I hope to do it again in the near future.

Let me know what you would like to see in Social. What would you like to do? Please send us your ideas and comments. Comment below inn the comment section.

Finally, as we head into fall begrudgingly I wanted to take a moment and remind you that being on our email list has some really great advantages. For events such as our Christmas Pop-up you'll get to shop early and snag the best merchandise. We will be having a members only night to kick off the season. Our sales will always go to our members first prior to the general public and you'll also get first dibs on Social nights. Go to www.VintageDeluxeOnline.com and scroll to the bottom of the main page to the email sign up. It's literally that simple.

Thank you for the continued support and see you at the shop soon!

Robert and Jason.
